4L Magazine

This was a fun volunteer/internship type venture that I fell into while I was in community college. I was a lead manager at a Wingstop at the time and the owner started a San Diego Magazine with some of his friends and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I had the opportunity to learn how a magazine was made and published, I got to transcribe an interview with Will Ferrell and Steve Woods (transcribing a recording is not as glorious as it may sound but still cool), I was in a eating competition that I failed miserably at, and in conclusion it was an experience I will always be truly grateful for.

Experiences

  • Cross referenced sites such as Yelp, Open Table, Zagat, Google Reviews and more to compile a list of the top restaurants in San Diego
  • Proofread the magazine before it was published
  • Transcribed interviews
  • Conducted Interviews
  •  Wrote descriptive articles for concerts and restaurants
  • Posted regularly on company social media pages such as Facebook and Instagram

Sprint

When I started working at sprint I had never worked in sales before and knew nothing about cellphones. Thankfully I was blessed with great teachers and I was able to pick up on the sales and cellphone world fairly quickly. The interpersonal skills and tech knowledge I've gained from my time at Sprint are my biggest takeaways.

Experiences

  • Hit conversion based sales targets every month with between 120-150% composite
  • Learned to work proficiently in an aggressive, fast-paced, numbers driven environment
  • Utilized Sales Force to reach out to new and existing leads
  • Kept up with store operations procedures such as fixtures, product placement and merchandising
  • Worked outside events such as Christmas events and the mud run
  • Visited local businesses to generate B2B leads

Adventure

T-mobile

Once Sprint and T-mobile merged I one day found myself wearing pink and the rest is history. T-mobile differs from working at Sprint in that Sprint was a very numbers focused, fast-paced, grind for results type of company. T-mobile on the other hand is more customer service focused with more of a lax work/life balance culture. The switch was nothing short of positive as a number and sales focused background accompanied with a consumer focused culture translates to a sales method that seeks to provide people with products and services that benefit their lives.

Experiences

  •  Over indexed percentage based sales goals by 200-400% in most metrics
  • Identified creative sales solutions to convert accounts from Sprint to T-mobile billing system post merge
  • Created new sales leads through referrals, follow up calls, and customer service leading to word of mouth references
  • Worked closely with management to find sales solutions for team oriented matters
  • Worked intimately with existing and prospective clients
  • Spread the vision and passion behind the brand with client contact, training, and education
